Weekend Reflections, Weekend Flowers and TODAY'S FLOWERS

I have just learned how to access my photos on my
comatose computer.

Insignificant for most of you but a giant leap for
this advanced age novice.

A precious waterlily from times gone by
that was lost in our prolonged drought,
but still gives joy in the remembering.

All three memes can be accessed from my sidebar.

OUR WORLD - Hope

I had occasion to go to town at the weekend,
stopped at the lights, I saw some hope in these
nice dark clouds . . .

we eventually did get a spot of rain, even on the other side
of the range, but not nearly enough.

Wild Bird Wednesday - More Galah Antics

What do you do when your glasses are broken, your best
camera out of action and 60,000 photos on file inaccessible?

Post a few more from the same batch as last week!

Phew, it's great  to have wings for a jump like this

ha, I can even dance on this slippery . . . oops

I've sid it before and I'll say it again, those wings sure come in handy!

OUR WORLD - Showtime!

This year it was the sesquicentennial of our local
Agricultural Show
one of the oldest continuous shows in the state.

Being a patron, I had to go along, if only to watch my
grandson-in-law win not only the intermediate section speed
shearing but also - would you believe it - the best butt on the board.

At the end of the shearing, all the competitors had to line up and
bend over and he got the vote of the audience.

Just starting off

oops, the last two pictures the computer reversed in order,
Lord knows why

so this is the last cut or two of one of seven sheep to be shorn

and here we are with a lovely white back and the legs being cleaned up.

It seems I was rather biased, I took no other photos of grand parades
or hall exhibits.

The weather was blustery with Scotch mist drifting through and
it got a bit cold for me to hang around any longer.

SkyWatch - Happiness is . . . Clouds

Oh the joy of seeing a few clouds in the sky!

Looking at the skyline on the hill behind my house.

A gentle hush of pink just south west of the sunset.

Wild Bird Wednesday - Nothing but Galahs

In this protracted heat, well into our autumn, months of it
and the last ten days hovering well over 30C,
sighting of birds has been rare.

Having stepped on and mangled my glasses, has not helped
one bit, nor that the programme on my Canon has gone haywire.

So, all I could manage, was these Galahs sitting on the front
fence of my yard.

At least they are colourful.

OUR WORLD - Muddy Waters

Recently I had the great pleasure to be present at
my daughter

INDIA FLINT's

latest exhibition : "Muddy Waters"
at the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery

A combination of an exhibition she had created and shown

in New Orleans
with an Australian component created
on her return.

The works were beautifully hung
and the writing, in mud on the wall, very moving indeed.

Please take the time to visit India's blog for more photos.
Just wander down to 28 Feb., her photos are
so much better than mine and you can even read
the printed version of the text.

PS The young lady is not part of the exhibits but
rather decorative none the less.
